What we do before publishing a page, and what we do when we get something wrong.

Where the material comes from

Pages are built from published, checkable sources — official and government material where it exists, established reference works, reporting from named publications, and primary material from the communities and organisations concerned. Where a page leans on specific sources, they are named on that page.

Where sources disagree

Living traditions are recorded unevenly, and honest sources contradict each other. When they do, we say so on the page rather than picking the tidiest version and presenting it as settled fact.

How pages are written and reviewed

Pages are drafted with AI assistance and reviewed by the site's owner before publication; nothing appears here that a person has not approved. Illustrations are labelled where they are AI-generated (see disclosure). Pages carry a "last updated" date, and material that has gone stale is revised or removed rather than left standing.

What we don't do

No paid placements, no sponsored links dressed up as editorial, no reviews of things we haven't looked into, and no filler written to hit a page count.
